Educational programs are given during normal park operating hours. Days and hours vary. Check with park staff for availability. Education Docents that are specially trained to handle animals when engaging with the public. They have their own training and eligibility requirements. Please read the Zoo Docent Volunteer role description for more information. 1. Complete volunteer training program. a. Program Orientation Training b. Background check c. CPR and First Aid Certification d. Complete site-specific training to receive park certification. e. Receive volunteer uniform. 2. Train with park staff and/or volunteers who give existing programs. 3. Complete docent training courses where applicable.
